In May, the firm negotiated a $785,000 settlement for a client.
Four years ago, the man was painting a ceiling when he fell from a defective 30-foot ladder, causing permanent injuries that would confine him to a wheelchair for life. Experts found that the top caps of the ladder were brittle and that its feet did not stand flush on the ground, causing it to be unstable.
The ladder was manufactured in Mexico by the King Corporation of Hackensack, New Jersey.
