$250,000 Settlement for Burns Suffered in Fire
- Date: Summer 2007
- Attorney: Jeffrey J. Zenna
- Settlement: $250,000
- Practice Areas: Premises Liability
Blume Donnelly partner Jeffrey Zenna represented a man who was an overnight guest at a friend’s home. There was a fire in the home and the man sustained burns to his arms. The fire alarm company was sued, as the home owner claimed the alarm system did not properly function, and did not sound while people were sleeping. The alarm company claimed nothing was wrong with the system but rather, the homeowner did not properly set the alarm. Jeff was able to prove the homeowner did not properly set the alarm system, and had same been done, a loud siren would have sounded, allowing our client to exit the home before sustaining burns .
