On November 3, 1992 at approximately 9 p.m., Gail Shollar and her 3 year-old daughter, Andrea were abducted from the parking lot of the Middlesex Mall in South Plainfield. Andrea was found at about 6:30 a.m. the next day wandering near a day care center, physically unharmed but emotionally traumatized. Gail’s nude body was found 4 days later. She had been raped and stabbed to death. Her murderer, Scott Johnson was apprehended, convicted, and given a life term in prison.
