$750,000 Settlement for Misdiagnosis of Uterine Cancer
- Date: Winter 2009
- Attorney: Carol L. Forte
- Settlement: $750,000
- Practice Areas: Medical Malpractice, Cancer Misdiagnosis, Uterine Cancer, Unnecessary Hysterectomy
Carol Forte represented a 50-year-old woman who was told she had uterine cancer — and a total hysterectomy was recommended. The pathology results on the uterine tissue obtained during the hysterectomy proved that the woman never had cancer. As a result of having her uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries removed, the woman suffered from premature menopause, and needed to take hormone replacement therapy.
