Carol Forte represented a woman whose mammogram was read as normal. The radiologist who read the mammogram failed to identify abnormalities that should have led to a biopsy. This resulted in a failure to timely diagnose the cancer, which it later turned out was present at that site. The delay in diagnosis allowed for a progression of the disease process.
