$585,000 Settlement for Facial Palsy

Blume Donnelly partner David Fried obtained a $585,000 settlement on behalf of a woman who was injured during removal of non-cancerous mass from her right ear. Unfortunately, the client’s surgeons failed to properly isolate her facial nerve, causing it to be severed. As a result, the client’s face is virtually paralyzed on the right side, causing difficulty in closing the right eye, blurriness of vision, and occasional speech and eating difficulties.
