The firm obtained a $4.6 million settlement for a scrap-metal yard master whose legs were severed during a railroad accident. The 47 year-old client, who was removing scrap metal between rails, was not aware that employees of Conrail were trying to hitch two rail cars. In backing up a rail car in an attempt to connect the two cars, the firm’s client was run over.
