$750,000 Settlement for Premises Liability / Train Accident

Partner Ronald Goldfaden settled this claim following a mediation for a young man who was injured as he disembarked from a New Jersey Transit train. The accident occurred in 2002 when the man and a number of other passengers from a New Jersey Transit train were disembarking after the train had reached its platform. Witnesses indicated that after the train came to a complete stop, and while passengers were still in the process of disembarking, the train suddenly began to move. Our client was injured when he stepped off the train and fell thru a trestle as the train moved past the end of the platform. He sustained severe head injuries and was unable to resume his former employment.
