$450,000.00 Settlement for Slip and Fall in Retail Store: Fractured Wrist requiring surgery
- Date: Fall 2020
- Attorney: Ken Elwood
- Settlement: $450 Thousand
- Practice Areas: Premises Liability
Ken Elwood represented a 61 year old woman who slipped and fell on a tile floor while shopping in a large retail store. The store had just shampooed a carpeted area of the floor, but had not placed any warning signs in the area despite the fact that the carpet was still wet. When our client walked over carpeted area onto the tile floor, she immediately slipped and fell fracturing her right wrist. The fracture did not heal well requiring two subsequent surgeries with extended physical therapy and convalescence. The store ultimately admitted fault and the case was settled after mediation.
