$1.5 Million Recovery – Delay in Diagnosing Breast Cancer
- Date: 2025
- Attorney: Michael B. Zerres
- Recovery: $1,500,000.00
- Practice Areas: Delayed Cancer Diagnosis
A Passaic County woman recently was awarded a $1.5 million settlement following an apparent delay in the diagnosis of her breast cancer. It was claimed that a radiologist who reviewed her mammography studies failed to recognize signs of a potential malignancy, namely architectural distortion, which could have led to an earlier diagnosis. It was argued that with an earlier diagnosis, the client’s treatment options, and her overall long-term prognosis, would have been more favorable. As a result of the alleged misread by her radiologist, it was asserted that there was a missed opportunity to biopsy the breast at a time when the cancer would likely have been at an earlier stage. Blume Forte partner Michael Zerres represented the client in the matter.
