According to The Caldwells Patch, a man from Hillside, New Jersey sustained multiple injuries when he fell 45 feet from a ladder at the North Caldwell Four Seasons construction site. The Four Seasons is an adult assisted living housing development that is being built on the site of a former county jail.
The construction worker was working on the siding of the Four Seasons when he fell from a 40-foot ladder. He suffered multiple injuries to his left leg and right arm, as well as internal injuries. He was Medevac’d to Morristown Memorial Hospital. His condition is currently unknown.
The cause of this New Jersey workplace accident is also unknown at the current time, but a number of factors could have contributed to such a fall, including:
- A defective or poorly designed ladder
- An old ladder that has not been properly maintained, or, is in poor repair
- Third party negligence of another contractor or sub-contractor
